The City of Weatherby Lake is a fourth class city located in Platte County, Missouri. The city was incorporated in 1936 and covers approximately 836 acres. The lake itself is approximately 274 acres at normal pool level.

The population is approximately 2,000 and there are approximately 736 property owners.

A Board of four Aldermen and a mayor elected by the residents administer the city’s government. The city itself is zoned for residential and recreational use only and no temporary dwelling are allowed. Zoning Ordinances regulate the use of the land and the location of improvements thereon. Minimum size of lot upon which a home may be constructed is 15,000 square feet.

A building permit must be obtained prior to the beginning of any new construction, remodeling, alteration or the addition to any existing structure and must meet the Zoning Ordinance and Construction Codes. Residents are required to purchase automobile city stickers. Car and motorcycle stickers are available at City Hall - $5.00 per vehicle annually (January 1st to December 31st). Replacement stickers are $2.00 each.

All dogs and cats must be registered. Registrations are due on January 1st, delinquent on March 1st and expire on December 31st. Fees are: $4.00 for neutered dogs and cats. $6.00 for un-neutered dogs and cats.
